The Ray joining the DCnU in December

Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray are writing the new four-issue mini-series starring an all new Ray.

The new Ray follows in the footsteps of Golden Age Lanford Terrill, his son Ray Terrill and Stan Silver.

Now, the latest identity of the Ray is: Lucien Gates. (“Much to the chagrin of [Lucien’s] girlfriend,” DC says.)

Previous Rays could absorb, store and process pure light in order to fly, create blasts of light, manipulate light and become near-impervious to harm.
